Biography

In February 2005 he was appointed as a professor at Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT) Asmara, under UNDP/World Bank sponsored project. He served there for one year, was a member of Curriculum Development Committee and designed and developed the syllabus of Pharmaceutical Chemistry for F/o Health Science of the Institute. He has extended her valuable service as an Associate Professor and has twenty four years Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard University. Hamdard he has worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Sebha University, Sebha, Libya. He has completed two major UGC research project and currently one DST project has been sanctioned. He has published 85 research articles in various national and international journals and presented more than 30 research papers in various conferences. He has participated and presented research papers in international conferences at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Paris, France; Las Vegas, USA and Boston, USA. While working at Jamia Hamdard he was appointed as Senior Lecturer by EDCIL (MHRD) on a UNDP sponsored program at Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), Rwanda and served in the Chemistry Department of the Institute from March 1999 to January 2000. In February 2005 he was appointed as a professor at Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT) Asmara, under UNDP/World Bank sponsored project. He served there for one year, was a member of Curriculum Development Committee and designed and developed the syllabus of Pharmaceutical Chemistry for F/o Health Science of the Institute. His field of research is Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry, involving design and synthesis of pharmaceutically important heterocyclic compounds, their spectroscopic characterization, and biological evaluation. He has published research papers in high impact factor journals such as European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic Medicinal Chemistry Letters, Archives of Pharmacol Research, Archiv der Pharmazi, Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry , Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry etc. His publications have a good h Index. He is also a reviewer of may international journals. Dr. Amir is an External examiner of various Universities and Colleges. Internal Examiner of Jamia Hamdard and Member of different Interview Boards for Entrance Tests. He has also participated and delivered lectures in Faculty Development program. He is a member of following scientific bodies: Life member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Life member of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Member of Inflammation Research Association, USA. Life member of Indian Society of Technical Education (IST), Life member of Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, Life member of Indian Society of Pharmacognosy.
