Biography

Diana Baptiste an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON). She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from JHUSON in 2013. Her capstone project was focused on using evidence-based interventions to improve self-care and reduce hospital readmission for adults with Chronic Heart Failure. Her clinical expertise stems from providing care for diverse populations in community, public health and acute-care settings. She is a nurse educator who specializes in adult health, teaching in courses across all levels in the baccalaureate nursing program. She has served as principal and co-investigator of several funded and unfunded projects and has published and presented internationally in the area of heart failure, and pre-licensure nursing education. She currently serves on the education committee for the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses and an active member of the National League of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International. As chair of a school-wide journal club, she teaches nursing students and clinicians critical appraisal skills, and how to use current literature to implement evidence-based practice projects in clinical practice areas.
