Shantosh Kumar

Santosh Kumar is an Assistant Professor at Department Electronics & Communication Engineering of DIT University, Dehradun, India. He is working in the area of Fiber Optics Communication and Photonics Devices. He received his PhD in the field of fiber optics from the Department of Electronics Engineering of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India in October, 2014. During the course of the research, he has published 20 National and International Journals including eight SCI Journals. He has also presented 22 papers at various National and International Conferences and has attended a couple of workshops in the field of interest. He has also authored a book titled “Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Field Theory” published by Agrawal Publication, Agra, India, in 2014. During this tenure, he has got tremendous global exposure in his area of expertisation. To showcase his quest to invariably learn and adapt new trends and technologies featuring at global front, he has attended SPIE Photonic Europe 2014 Conference held at Brussels, Belgium and FiO-2014 Conference held at Arizona, USA. SPIE has also appreciated him for significant work by providing the letter of appreciation confirming him as an astute reviewer of Optical Engineering. He is engaged with various technical and professional societies such as IEEE, IEEE Photonics Society, IEEE Communications Society, OSA and SPIE. He has laid the foundation of the student chapters of two esteemed Optics societies (OSA & SPIE) at ISM Dhanbad. He is the founder member and faculty advisor of SPIE chapter at DIT University.
