Biography

Dr. Abeer Arain is a student in University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, studying Maters of Public Health (MPH). She works as a graduate research assistant at the Department of Radiation Oncology- Stephenson Oklahoma Cancer Center since 2013 and as a research assistant in Pathology Lab at Stanton L. Young Biomedical Research Center since 2015. Dr. Arain completed her MBBS from Dow Medical College, Dow University of Health Sciences, Pakistan. Her research interest lies in the area of Head and Neck and lung cancer, ranging from new advances in the treatment to comparison of different radiation treatment modalities. In recent years, she has focused on finding clinical outcomes of cancer patients using different chemotherapy regimens combined with radiotherapy, and studying the role of TMEFF2 protein in Prostate Cancer metastasis. She has worked with several clinicians and researchers from the disciplines of Radiation Oncology, Hematology/Oncology and Public Health. Dr. Arain has presented several posters in roughly ten meetings. This includes annual conferences of ASTRO (American society of Radiation Oncology), EPA (European psychiatric conference), ISRS (International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society Congress), and at the National Psychiatric conference (Pakistan). Dr. Arain lives in Oklahoma City, OK and enjoys outdoor activities like Hiking. She also enjoys hobbies like Origami art, cooking, writing and reading non-fiction.
