Biography

He is currently Vice-Chancellor  of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.  Prof Andrew Jonathan Nok was born on February 11, 1962 in Kaduna. He attended the LEA Primary School, Ungwar Rimi, Kaduna between 1968 and 1974 and Government Secondary School, Kafanchan between 1974 and 1979. He graduated with B.Sc. Second Class Upper Division degree in Biochemistry from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1983, and M.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in Biochemistry from the same University in 1988 and 1993 respectively. Prof. Nok is happily married and blessed with three children. Prof Nok was Fellow at several institutions including: the Tokyo institute of Technology, Japan (1993), Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany (1994), Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in Nagasaki University (1998), the Commonwealth Fellow at the University of Strathclyde UK (2005) and Fellow of the Lady Davis Foundation and Visiting Professor to the Kuvin Medical Centre, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He was also a Senior Fullbright Scholar/Visiting Professor at the Yale University in 2009.
