Mrs. Foertsch completed her MSN in 1989 and completed a DNP with Adult Medical Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist Concentration in 2013. She has 25 years of teaching experience primarily caring for postoperative, surgical patients. She has taught in various academic settings and various educational levels including diploma nursing, associate degree and now baccalaureate. The last 10 years she has been employed as assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Her capstone and specialty, research interest is in discharge education for the surgical patient on monitoring and detection of a surgical site infection. Additional academic interests include NCLEX preparation and test taking.
