Performance Analysis and Investigation of Emissions of C.I. Diesel Engine Using Neem Oil as Blending Agent: Review

Abstract

The depletion of world petroleum reserves and the increased environmental concern have stimulated the search of alternative fuel which is to be environment friendly. Bio-fuels have the potential to become alternative fuel for fossil fuels. Biodiesel is a fuel comprised of mono alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats. Biodiesel is reliable, renewable, biodegradable and regarded as a clean alternative fuel to reduce exhaust emissions. Vegetable oil like Neem oil is considered as alternate fuels to diesel. This review has been taken up to identify the performance and emission characteristics of CI engine using Neem biodiesel
