Recent advances in Ayurveda trichology practice

Abstract

Ayurvedic trichology and cosmetology practice is one of the finest super specialization of Ayurveda with the demand of time. Many ayurvedic therapies and herbomineral preparation has been described in 5000 years old Ayurveda samhitas. There is description of different ayurvedic therapies like prachanna, raktamokshana(blood letting) etc. Most importantly KURCHA CHIKITSA has been described in samhitas which can be correlated with derma roller of modern science. Acharya Vagbatta has described more as kurcha is circular brush with sharp round spikes fixed on one end.this is indicated for scrapping in blue patches,melasma, loss of hair,alopecia areata and vitiligo. It helps to stimulate reactivation of hair grow cycle resulting in better hair grow and reduces hairfall.
