Traditional medicine and acupuncture

Abstract

It has been truly said that medicine was conceived in sympathy and born out necessarily, the primary doctor was the primary man/women/nurse. The prehistoric man, motivated by feelings of sympathy and kindness, was always at the behest of his kindred, trying to supply relief, in times of sickness and suffering. Traditional medicine was a system of drugs which consists sum of the knowledge, skills and practices supported the theories, beliefs, and experiences indigenous to different cultures, utilized in the upkeep of health also as within the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental disease. Since the knowledge of primitive man was limited, they considered that human sufferings and other calamities are caused by wrath of God, the invasion of body by “evil spirits” and therefore the malevolent influence of stars and planets. In effort to fight against the diseases, citizenry began to develop ways of lessening pain and treating physical and mental diseases. At first, many of the ways of treating these problems undoubtedly came through hit and trial method with errors included, using various plants and other methods derived from observations of how animals reacted to and treated illness and injuries. Many of the methods for treating diseases are passed down through families for generation which are today known to be genetic diseases. In ancient medieval Europe, the doctrine of signatures stated the natural connection between the physical appearance of medicinal substances and their medical effectiveness. For example, the lung shaped leaves of lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) depicted its effectiveness in treatment of lung disorders. Interestingly, afterward the active principles extracted from the plant proved to be effective in lung disorders. There were many sorts of traditional medicines. due to different experiences and observations - Folk, Chinese, Greek, Roman, African Acupuncture may be a sort of medicine and a component of traditional Chinese medicine during which thin needles are inserted into the body. Acupuncture may be a pseudoscience; the theories and practices of TCM aren't supported knowledge domain, and it's been characterized as quackery. there's a variety of acupuncture variants which originated in several philosophies, and techniques vary counting on the country during which it's performed but are often divided into two main foundational philosophical applications and approaches, the primary being the fashionable standardized form called eight principal TCM and therefore the second an older system that's supported the traditional Taoist Wuxing or better referred to as the five elements or phases within the West.
