Biography

Dr. George Voskopoulos is Associate Professor of European Studies and currently Head of the Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. He is currently Director of the MA post-graduate program in European Union Youth, Education and Culture Policies. He has studied in Canada (BA, Brock University), Greece (BA, Ionian University). He received his MA in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lancaster University, UK and his PhD in European Studies from Exeter University, UK. He has published books and articles (in Greek, English and Russian) in Greece, the US, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Albania, India, Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic and the UK. From 2001 to 2003 he taught European integration theories, international relations theories and academic English at University of Russe (Bulgaria), Department of European Studies. In the summer of 2005 he was an Associate Research Fellow at the Luxembourg Institute for International and European Studies where he conducted re-search on the democratic deficit in the European Union. He is a Member of the Advisory Board, Institute of Peace and Diplomacy, Islamabad, Pakistan and a Member of the Editorial Board of The Researcher, Institute of Middle East Studies, Canada
