Sandhu is known as a Legume Breeder and presently working as Agriculture Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture .Govt. of India and before this, he has worked as Assistant Director General (Seeds) with Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), New Delhi.He has also developed lifting guidelines for breeders seeds and policy planning related to seed. Besides, he supervised research and management programme of National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi, National Centre for Plant Biotechnology (NRCPB), New Delhi and Directorate of Seed Research, Mau, Dr. Sandhu drafted the guidelines of Germplasm Exchange. He has also helped in developing a number of MoUs and work plans for international collaboration.

Dr. Rao received his PhD from one of the topnotch pharmacy schools in India, University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University, Andhra Pradesh, India. He taught human anatomy, physiology and pharmacology to BS pharmacy students for more than 3 years. Post PhD, he worked for Drug Discovery and Development giants, Lupin Research Park, Lupin Limited, and Advinus Therapeutics Pvt. Ltd., Pune, India in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) division from 2006 to 2010. He began with the Dr. Bala Ambati lab in 2010, as a Postdoctoral Fellow, and continuing his research activities as Director, Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics, iVeena LLC, and as Research Associate at John A Moran Eye Center, University of Utah. Dr. Rao is playing a key role in design and development of a novel Bioerodible Dexamethasone Implants (BDI) to provide targeted (local) and sustained release of dexamethasone during the critical postoperative time period, thus eliminating the need for topical steroid drops after cataract surgery. Dr. Rao is the co-inventor on 2 patents and published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals and his work is cited in the biomedical literature by colleagues all over the world. Dr. Rao is a peer reviewer for more than ten international journals and serving in the editorial and advisory boards of several pharmaceutical and bio-medical journals.

During his tenure here, he contributed to the discovery of multiple clinical drug candidates for all major diseases. A prolific multidisciplinary and entrepreneurial scientist, he has also founded or been involved in the founding of multiple startup biotech companies. Dr. Dahl has also held a post as a tenure track professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Drug discovery at a prestigious medical school and is a highly regarded lecturer. Dr. Dahl has co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and is an inventor on over 20 patents in therapeutics and chemistry. In his spare time, Dr. Dahl is an ardent admirer of Wrightian architecture, both pre- and post-Prairie School, having himself incorporated Usonian design philosophies in his private residence.
