Dr. K. Baskar born and brought up at Suriyampalayam village, Thiruchengode, Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu, India. He has completed PhD in Entomology-Zoology from University of Madras, Chennai, India. He is specialized in the field of agricultural & household entomology and Ecotoxicology. He is having 10 years of research experience including 6 months teaching experience. He has published 51 papers in the field of entomology especially in agricultural pest management. He has served as Entomologist at AL- YAMAMA trading and contracting company, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has provided training to farmers and self-help groups in many villages in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts on identification of insect pests, natural enemies, botanical pesticide formulation preparation and production of vermicompost for sustainable agriculture. Presently, he is working as Senior Scientist and Head, Department of Entomology and Ecotoxicology at Bioscience Research Foundation, Porur, Chennai, India and he is engaged in evaluating the Bio-efficacy of household and agricultural pesticides under lab and field conditions; he is also studied Eco-toxicological effects of chemical in Daphnia, Alga sp., Lemna sp., Honeybees, Fish and Earthworm. He is serving as editor and reviewer in a few international journals.
