Biography | ||
Wuhan Botanical Garden/Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Affiliate, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Colorado State University. My current research focuses on germplasm collection and enhancement of bioenergy plants (Miscanthus and tung tree, Vernicia fordii), gene discovery in wheat [resistance against rust diseases, tolerance to drought and salt, resistance to wheat aphids, high grain protein content, etc.], crop comparative genomics, plant evolution and crop domestication genomics. I have collected about 1,000 accessions of Miscanthus sinensis, over 400 accessions of tung tree and nearly 700 accessions of wild emmer wheat germplasm. Several papers on energy plants and resistance gene evolution have been published in the prestigious international journals, such as Biomass & Bioenergy, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, and so on. |
