PAPR Reduction in Multicarrier Modulations Using Firefly Algorithm

Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique is a promising technique in this regard as it offers high data rate and reliable communications over various fading channels. But the main drawback of OFDM is the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper we proposed the technique to reduce the PAPR using Firefly algorithmin in multicarrier modulation system. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme considerably outperforms the conventional system.
