Biography

She Joined in the Department, as Assistant Professor, on 5th Jan,2007. Before joining here, she had worked for two years in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Bishop Heber College, Trichy, as a Lecturer. She started her career in B.Sc., Agricultural Sciences, at AC&RI, Madurai and later on her area of interest had been changed to Environmental Sciences. She completed her M.Sc., and Ph D., in the above area, at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. During the period, she won several recognition, Awards and medals for her outstanding performance in the study. She was the ICAR fellowship holder in M.Sc., and the fellowship is given to the Meritorious-students passing all India level Entrance Exam, conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, with high score. She earned knowledge in Composting, particularly Agricultural and Orchard wastes, through her Guide Dr. P. P. Ramasamy, (P.G.Dean Agriculture) and pursued her Doctoral programme, under the guidance of Dr.K.Ramasamy, who is specialized in handling Anaerobes and Fermentation technologies. She had been exposed to various techniques of pollution control during her study period in the TNAU, which include Phytoremediation, bio-de-colurisation of coloured Pulp-plant effluent and Textile-mill waste Water, remediation of Chromium affected soils of Vaniambadi district, Distillery-wastes, Sulfate reducers, Methanogens. And she won Gold Medal- Professor Rangaswamy Memorial Award-Best Thesis Award for her research contribution. And she cleared NET in 2001.

Currently she is holding the additional responsibility of running the NCC unit, Girls wing in the University. She commissioned in the year 2010, bestowed with the rank of Lieutenant ; and has become an Associate NCC Officer of the University.
