In the field of nutrition and wellness, flavonoids stand out as potent plant compounds that offer a multitude of health benefits. These bioactive substances, abundantly present in fruits, vegetables, tea, and other plant-based foods, play a key role in promoting overall health and well-being. Let's delve into the fascinating world of flavonoids and uncover their remarkable effects on human health. Flavonoids are a diverse group of polyphenolic compounds found in plants, where they serve various functions, including UV filtration, pigmentation, and defence against pathogens. With over 6,000 different types identified, flavonoids are classified into subclasses such as flavones’, flavones, flavanones, flavan-3-ols (catechism), anthocyanin’s, and is flavones.
