Surgical Oncology deals with the surgical treatment of cancer and tumours. It is also used to diagnose certain cancers. Surgical treatment of cancer depends on various factors such as size, type, location and stage of the tumours well as general health factors of the candidate patient. Surgical treatment is often combined with chemotherapy, radiation or hormone therapy either before or after surgery to ease the treatment process.
