Special Issue: Coronavirus disease outbreaks in Biology

Funding opportunities by major funding Agencies/Countries

New tools of cell and molecular biology have led to increased understanding of intracellular replication and viral cell biology, and the advent in the past five years of reverse genetic approaches to study coronaviruses has made it possible to begin to define the determinants of viral replication, transpecies adaptation, and human disease. The basic life cycle and replication of the well-studied coronavirus, mouse hepatitis virus (MHV), identifying the unique characteristics of coronavirus biology and highlighting critical points where research has made significant advances, and which might represent targets for antivirals or vaccines. We welcome all Research and Review papers, Case reports, Short communications, Commentaries for possible publication in this particular special issue. We support Open Access initiative where articles are freely accessible to everyone immediately after publication and gives worldwide audience, larger than that of any subscription-based journal. Furthermore, Our Journal offers increased convenience, reach, and retrieval power, thus improving the visibility and impact of its published articles.

This Special Issue seeks all types of manuscripts (e.g., reviews, research articles, and short communications) on coronavirus-host interactions that lead to highly pathogenic infections of human and animals including: overcoming interspecies barriers to zoonotic transmission, coronavirus evasion of host immune responses, the mechanisms resulting in cellular and tissue damage, and the virus and host genetic determinants underlying pathogenesis and person-to-person/animal-to-animal transmission.
