Biography

Dr. Wendy Shaw has attended University of Melbourne
for her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Human Geography and has published various articles along with a scholary book named Cities of whiteness and a documentry named A Life In Cotton: The Birth of the Modern Cotton Indsutry in Australia. She completed three research projects in the year 2010-2012 and currently working on Human-Animal Bonds Between Zoo Professionals and the Animals in their care. 
 

Research Interest

Contemporary research field of whiteness in postcolonial Australia and Indigenous geographies; theoretical debates about identity, specifically concerning urbanism and urbanity, gentrification and cosmopolitanism, and the complex realities of (post)colonial urban life in Australia, and beyond.
