Maxim Yu. Khlopov was born in Moscow 5 September 1951. Father, Yuri Khlopov, is Professor of technical sciences. Mother, Larisa Solntzeva, is professor of theatrical arts. On finishing secondary school with gold medal reward in 1968 entered Moscow Physical Technical Institute (MPhTI). In 1974 graduated with honours from MPhTI (Diploma of Engineer-Physicist of 30.06.1974, Moscow, duly certified English copy is available) and entered MPhTI post graduate courses, which finished in 1977 by successful presentation of thesis of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on physical and astrophysical effects of weak interactions and got Diploma of Candidate of Science (of 15.03.1978, Moscow; USSR/Russia equivalent of PhD, duly certified English copy is available).

Biography :

"Carmine Cataldo was born on 13 February 1979 in Battipaglia (Salerno - Italy). In 2004, he graduates from the University of Salerno in Mechanical Engineering; the same year, he passes the qualifying examination to the engineers register. In 2008, he obtains, from the University of Salerno, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with a final dissertation based upon the analytical modelling of the extrusion and stretching processes targeted at thermoplastic polymers.
During PhD research work, he mainly focuses on heat treating of steels and iron based alloys, mechanical characterization of unconventional and composite materials, innovative technologies for welded and glued joints, treatments finalized to increase the surface tension of polymeric films, application of fuzzy logic to adjust the extrusion die during the film casting process, rapid prototyping by laser sintering.

Currently, keeping alive an old passion for Physics, he is particularly interested in alternative cosmology and special relativity. His main interest lies in the attempt to preserve the validity of notions considered as outdated, by assigning a different meaning, coherently with the phenomenological reality, to equations usually classified as relativistic."

Mohammad Mehdi Rashidi is born in Hamedan, Iran in 1972. He received his B.Sc. degree in Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan, Iran in 1995. He also received his M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran in 1997 and 2002, respectively. Dr. Perumal Alagarsamy, received his Master’s degree in Physics (in 1997) from American College under Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, INDIA. Later, he joined as a research scholar in the department of Physics and Meteorology, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and received his doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2002 in the area of experimental condensed matter physics (magnetism and magnetic materials). He completed his post doctoral research work in (i) Department of Physics and Center for Nanospinics of Spintronic Materials, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and technology (KAIST) under Professor Sung–Chul Shin from Nov. 2001 – Aug. 2003, (ii) Information for Storage Materials Laboratory (ISML), Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan under Professor Takao Suzuki from Sep. 2003 – July. 2004. He moved to department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, as Assistant Professor in Aug. 2004 and currently working as Professor. In 2006, he received the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) post-doctoral research award and worked with Professor Kazuhiro Hono in Magnetic Materials Center, National Institute for Materials Science, Tsukuba, JAPAN. My research work in Ph.D. was concentrated on fiber optic sensors based on the technique of surface plasmon resonance (SPR). I have worked extensively for more than three years on the theoretical and experimental aspects of Surface Plasmon Resonance photonics and its applications in fiber optic sensors with Prof. B. D. Gupta during Ph.D. work, focusing on the sensing of refractive index, molar concentration and on various sensor designs. The prime motive behind the research work was to propose different models of fiber optic SPR sensors with maximum sensitivity. In this context, the theoretical modeling and simulations were performed to analyze the effect of different probe designs on sensor’s performance. A few theoretical models for the sensing of different parameters were proposed and published.

Dr. Rajeev received Ph.D. degree in experimental high energy physics from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He completed his thesis work on CP violation with the large amount of data collected by KEKB accelerator at KEK, Japan. He worked with Prof. Y.Sakai at KEK, Japan for two years during his Ph.D. degree. He is awarded with prestigious INFN foreign post-doctoral fellowship by Italy to work on LHCb experiment at CERN, Geneva Switzerland. He worked on charge track multiplicities and detector simulation at CERN for two years, before moving to Department of Physics, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. At P.A.U. Ludhiana, he is involved both in post-graduate and undergraduate teachings. His main area of research is CP violation with Belle detector and participating in hardware activities of Silicon Vertex Detector (SVD) for Belle-II experiment. He has authored more that 100 + publications in International Journals. He is awarded with major research project by the DST, New Delhi. He is elected national coordinator of Indian Association for Physics Teachers (IAPT) for regional chapter-2 which comprises of Punjab and J&K.
