A biosensor is an device, used for the detection of a biological component such as tissue, microorganisms, cell receptors, organelles, enzymes, nucleic acids, antibodies etc. with a physicochemical detector that transforms the signal resulting from the interaction of the analyte with the biological element into another signal that can be more easily measured and quantified.
